Vermeer Recall 12V425000: Service Brakes, Air, Supply, Hoses, Lines/piping, And Fittings

NHTSA recall 12V425000 · announced August 31, 2012 · filed by Vermeer Manufacturing Company · 18 units affected

The problem

Vermeer is recalling certain model year 2010-2012 R9X12T drilling fluid reclaimer trailers manufactured from March 01, 2010, through August 03, 2012. Due to interference between the air brake hoses and the frame cross-member at the rear axle, the air brake hose may become pinched or be damaged, resulting in the loss of air pressure to the air brakes.

The risk

A loss of air pressure to the air brakes can result in a loss of service brakes, increasing the risk of a crash.

What to do

Vermeer will notify owners, and dealers will re-reroute the air brake hose, free of charge. The recall began on September 27, 2012. Owners may contact Vermeer at 641-628-3141.
