Electrameccanica Recall 22V307000: Exterior Lighting, Turn Signal

NHTSA recall 22V307000 · announced May 6, 2022 · filed by Electra Meccanica Vehicles Corp · 129 units affected

The problem

Electra Meccanica Vehicles Corp (ElectraMeccanica) is recalling certain 2021 Solo vehicles. In the event of a rear turn signal wire harness short-circuit, the flashing frequency of the unaffected turn signal lights would not change, failing to alert the driver that a turn signal has failed. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment."

The risk

Driving without a functional rear turn signal can increase the risk of a crash.
