NHTSA recall 22V489000 · announced July 8, 2022 · filed by Forest River, Inc. · 43 units affected

The problem

Forest River, Inc. (Forest River) is recalling certain 2022 Coachmen Apex travel trailers. The tail lights may have been incorrectly wired to an "ON/OFF" switch, which can cause the brake or tail lights to not illuminate when the switch is in the "off" position.

The risk

Brake or tail lights that fail to illuminate can reduce visibility to other drivers, increasing the risk of a crash.

What to do

Dealers will rewire the tail lights, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed August 9, 2022. Owners may contact Forest River customer service at 1-574-358-0401. Forest River's number for this recall is 220-1535.
