NHTSA recall 23E088000 · announced November 14, 2023 · Bcs Automotive Interface · 80,206 units affected
The problem
BCS Automotive Interface Solutions US, Ltd. (BCS Automotive) submitted a non-compliance information report based upon the recall determinations made by Ford Motor Company (23V-847) and Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) (Stellantis) (24V-199). Certain steering column control modules (SCCM) installed into vehicles have electrical functions that may fail and deactivate the driver's air bag. The risk
A deactivated air bag cannot deploy as intended during a crash, increasing the risk of injury.
What to do
The affected vehicle manufacturers will determine the appropriate remedy for their vehicles. Vehicle manufacturers were notified November 8, 2023.
