The problem

Vicinity Motor Corporation (Vicinity) is recalling certain 2017 Vi33 and 2022 Vi35 buses powered by compressed natural gas (CNG). The risk

A compressed natural gas leak can result in a fire or explosion, increasing the risk of injury.

What to do

Owners are advised to remove the vehicles from service until the final remedy becomes available. Dealers will replace the low pressure CNG hoses, free of charge. Interim letters notifying owners of the safety risk were mailed August 1, 2024. A second notice will be sent once the remedy becomes available. Owners may contact Vicinity customer service at 1-604-607-4000. Vicinity's number for this recall is CA-000-054.
